The Emergency and Safety (E&S) Category and E&S Incidents
The Emergency and Safety (E&S) category aims to capture all security incidents that may impact public safety, personal security, and business operations. The category is broken up into four streams:
Urgent and Developing
This stream monitors all significant E&S incidents that have been identified as having a high impact and are actively developing. Overall, users will receive alerts about the most disruptive E&S incidents and useful updates from samdesk's analyst team.
We recommend using this stream to monitor high impact E&S incidents such as mass shootings or large scale public safety incidents.
Early Indicator
This stream monitors all active E&S incidents that may evolve into Urgent & Developing incidents. Overall, users will receive alerts about a large number of different incidents of both small and large impact.
We recommend using this stream to monitor for potential threats to your assets and employees, early indicators are especially useful in mitigating threats before they have an impact on your assets.
Hyperlocal
This stream monitors incidents that are constrained to a small locality and impact a limited number of people. Overall, users will receive alerts about incidents that affect a small area and have a limited geographical impact.
We recommend using this stream to monitor for low impact incidents that may be disruptive to your localized assets, such as a car crash outside your office.
Context
This stream monitors incidents that have finished, are not urgent, or do not pose an active threat to individuals in the area. Overall, users will receive alerts with useful contextual information rather than incidents that need to be actioned on immediately.
We recommend using this stream for situational awareness purposes.
